Photographer, Screenwriter, Editor & Colorist
I was born in Faro, in the south of Portugal.
At the age of 20, I moved to Lisbon and graduated in Audiovisual and Multimedia studies. Here, I cemented my interest for video and cinema, combining it with new perceptions of how cultural industries and media affect society. As a self-taught creative, I learned notions of screenwriting, producing, directing, editing, color grading and basic animating.
In the beginning, I covered events, shot and edited promotional films and web content for social media. I filmed and photographed for artists like Pedro Gramaxo, and directed music videos for musicians such as Matay, Agir, Diogo Piçarra and Mike El Nite. As a director of photography, I shot auteur fashion films for fashion designers António Castro and Mara Flora. I photographed an Archie Dickens collection which was exhibited in London and got featured in PYLOT Magazine. I also worked as a colorist for several other films, for clients such as El Corte Inglês and MAAT, and I colorgraded Frágil, a TV Series for RTP Play.
Recently, I started a filmmaking collective called Multiverse, alongside three other directors, a producer and a director of photography, and under that name I directed commercial and institutional publicity, for clients such as Delta and Acreditar (from which two campaigns were broadcasted on RTP1), and one music video for the musician Polivalente.
Throughout my career, I have been working on projects with different kinds of nature, from working with reduced budgets to bigger ones, or from collaborating with large teams and agencies to working as a one-man show. But I believe that I maintain a fresh, flexible and creative mindset that helps me adapt and overcome any challenge to come, and what fuels it is my passion for filmmaking.
